When you think baseball, you think Babe Ruth; when you think of a gold watch, you think Rolex; and when you think luxury automobiles you think Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes has solidified itself as the 800lb gorilla of the luxury car market, with more models, more options, and more clout than any other manufacturer in this segment.

Mercedes C-class: A sensible choice for those with Mercedes dreams and a realistic budget. The C-class is a solid little car, with many of the same features and feel of Mercedes’ larger sedans. The C-class can be had in a variety of configurations, from a two-door coupe to a four-door wagon, with a variety of options and engine variations.

Mercedes C55 AMG: With enough power for three small sedans, the 362hp C55 is the pinnacle of what can be had in the small sport-sedan class.

Mercedes CL-class: The benchmark that all other ultra luxury coupes strive to emulate. Ample power (via its standard V8) and prototypical luxury appointments define this deluxe automobile.

Mercedes CL55 AMG: How could Mercedes make the CL better? Well, they could make it obscenely powerful for starters. That’s exactly what they did when they added the AMG version of the CL. A hand built twin turbo V8 churning out 496 glorious horsepower, and perforated AMG nappa leather seats will have you gasping for joy as this ride catapults you down the road.

Mercedes CL65 AMG: As if 500 horsepower weren’t enough, the boys at AMG felt a biturbo 612hp V12 was in order. This thing is the equivalent of a track star in formal wear, waiting for some poor fool to challenge him to a foot race. 735 ft/lbs. of torque means that if you’re not careful with your right foot, the road might actually start folding behind you like the Roadrunner on Looney Tunes. It also means that once you ease your foot down on the pedal, you’ll be breaking the speed limit before you can say “uh-oh”—with a zero to sixty time of only 3.8 seconds—and room for you, three friends and all your golf clubs.

Mercedes CLK-Class: Whether it’s the coupe or cabriolet, the CLK is sure to satisfy in this smaller two-door luxury platform from Mercedes. An elegant design for those looking for a luxury coupe, but not the size or price of the CL.

Mercedes CLK55 AMG: As they do with all of their models, Mercedes offers its CLK to the horsepower hungry, with a 362hp V8.

Mercedes CLS-class: The newest model to come from Mercedes, the CLS blurs the lines between transportation and art. Marketed as a “four-door coupe” this full size sedan is a sexy, fluid design that looks as though it belongs in a modern art museum rather than on the road.

Mercedes E-class: A strong design in this mid sized sedan, with just the right amount of everything: ample space without being bulky or cumbersome, luxurious without being overtly pretentious, and just enough power—whether your idea of the right amount is a 3.5L V6, or a 5.0L V8.

Mercedes E55 AMG: Muscularly urbane describes this road-hungry torque-monster. The E-Class with a 469hp twin turbo V8 and aggressive styling creates a whole different kind of monster from the standard E320 or E500.

Mercedes G-class: Is that an SUV or some sort of military assault vehicle? Well, both. Originally built for the Austrian military, the G-class is built accordingly: vault-like steel doors, locking differential and an all-around tank-like mentality in construction, the G-class will probably outlast its owner.

Mercedes G55 AMG: A 469hp powerplant replaces the 350hp of last year’s model, and since you probably don’t live near the autobahn (and probably won’t want to scratch that pretty $103,000 SUV off-road), this boost in power means that you can go get a gallon of milk at breakneck speeds.

Mercedes M-Class: A major change in the M-class this year breathes new life into the nearly decade-old design. With a variety of options from engine size, to interior and appearance packages, it’s no wonder the well-rounded SUV has done so well. This newest rendering of the M-class goes even further in elegance and performance.

Mercedes S-class: Look up luxury sedan in the dictionary, and I bet you’ll find a picture of the S-class. A full-size sedan with classic luxury, in a timeless design, the S-Class is the definition of a luxury automobile.

Mercedes S55 AMG: A 496hp full-sized sedan to get you and four passengers from A to B in the lap of luxury—fast.

Mercedes SL-Class: The newest generation of the classic roadster lives up to its lineage. With a 5.0L V8, or a 5.5L V12, a retractable hardtop, and that oh-so-Mercedes interior, this one will go down in history with the rest.

Mercedes SL55 AMG: The Herculean twin turbo heart from AMG finds another donor, in a wickedly fast rendition of the SL roadster.

Mercedes SL65 AMG: With more horsepower than the Kentucky Derby, and a price tag that’s greater than most small countries' GDP, the SL65 is the stuff that dreams are made of: a 612hp biturbo V12 in a car that goes from coupe to convertible with the touch of a button, navigation, a suede headliner and active ventilated seats. It's the stuff dreams are made of for those who can afford it, and the stuff of daydreams for the rest of us—one smooth car.

Mercedes SLK-Class: Mercedes’ fun little roadster underwent a big change for the 2005 model year. It’s for those looking for the fun and feel of the retractable hardtop of the SL, but don’t want all that power or price tag.

Mercedes SLR McLaren: Is it a spaceship? The Bat Mobile? No, the SLR is faster, rarer, and probably more expensive than anything Bruce Wayne could afford. This carbon fiber beast is powered by a 617hp supercharged V8, made by famed engine builder McLaren (the same one that created the world’s fastest street-legal car, and who commands a big chunk of the F1 racing
circuit’s business). The SLR will go from 0-60 in under 3.8 seconds on its way to a top speed of 205 mph.
